Current Obsessions.

Current obsessions include:

1. Macklemore. His new song-Macklemore- Can't Hold Us - is on repeat in my dorm room since both my roommate and I are obsessed with it. He is making his rounds to colleges all over America...except mine of course. BUT he is coming to Dublin in September and I fully plan on snagging tickets if I can. Attending a concert-let alone Macklemore- in Dublin.. check and check. Click the link for a tune you will become addicted to.

Week in Review

Let us review the past week--shall we?

1. Reese Witherspoon getting arrested. I NEVER thought she would be headlining news, but alas celebrities all slip up at one point. Her husband got arrested for DUI (driving the wrong way on a highway in Alabama) and she got thrown in the slammer for harassing the police officer. Remember she has three children, one of whom is a baby.
Poor gal couldn't even muster the cognitive skills to look at the camera. Still smiling though--way to rally Reese!

She still wins classy points because of the statement she released: "
"Out of respect for the ongoing legal situation, I cannot comment on everything that is being reported right now. But I do want to say, I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said"

2. Gweneth got voted most beautiful person in the world, according to People Magazine. Let me tell you something. She eats the weirdest diet- only certain types of fish, no gluten, no diary, no sugar, no carbs. She trains 3 times a day (yes 3!!) and she has endless amounts of money for beauty treatments, makeup, and wardrobe. If you have all this, you should be the prettiest woman alive!! Are you kidding?? Gweneth commented by saying the honor is "weird"--I don't believe for a second she thinks its weird because she works day in day out to be noticed. Girl probably let her self chew a sugary cupcake then spit it out for celebration. Jury is still out on whether I believe she is that pretty, but she surely isn't ugly.
She has two children and I have to say, if you are spending all that time on yourself.... you probably could be spending more time with your children. If you are training three times a day there is no way your time is properly dispersed to the other people in your life.

3.Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson had to have emergency surgery to repair a hernia. It forced him to miss the Pain and Gain premiere in LA, but alas everything went fine and he tweeted "#wefallwerise". It is safe to say that our favorite oversized hunk is on the mend!
While The Rock is under the narcotics cloud, we are totally sane enough to pick up on the sassiness of director Michael Bay (director of Pain and Gain) who stated "He was pushing it too hard. He needs to grow up and stop wrestling 300 pound men". I am sensing a little jealousy on the part of the much smaller, 80's hair, ' I think I am awesome ' director. AKA him:
4. Lastly no words are needed for what Gweneth wore this week to the Iron Man 3 premiere. I am speechless as to what she was thinking. It is not fashionable, not flattering, nor is she wearing underwear. You may come to your own conclusions.

Cousins are the best.

I saw this circulating around the internet today and could not stop laughing.

If you cannot name that movie-SHAME ON YOU. It, of course, is Miss Congeniality. If you haven't seen it.. rent or buy it now.
For years this was the only movie (besides baby movies) down the Cape that my cousins and I could watch and boy did we watch it... multiple times a week. We knew every line and would say them along with the movie. At the talent competition parts my cousin Molly and I would act them out and promptly be slammed with a pillow by our other cousin Elizabeth who hated when we would sing or disrupt her movie viewing.

We had many rules about his movie: 1. It is too only be watched in Cape Cod (back bedroom club!--only they will understand this!) 2. If someone gets really mad and threatens to leave because you are saying all the lines.. everyone must quiet down before she gets in a better mood. 3. the VHS version must be the only one used.

It reminded me how much I miss my cousins. Since I do not have any sisters the are my closest things and I couldn't be more thankful that I have them. So many memories and way too many laughs. I am beyond grateful to have them!

Let's Review.....

We went from this:
to this:
Then this:
Then the streets looked like this:
and this:
after we seared these images into our heads:
Then this good news:
after this bad news:
followed by hours of this:

in a small town now famous:

Which lead to the best news that looked like this:

Finally we all looked like this:
And we have never been more thankful for these guys:
Or more proud to be Bostonians:
One Boston. Very strong. United more than ever. God bless America.

Praying for Boston.

Just days ago I was trouncing about Boston celebrating 20 years of life and days later those same spots are stained with blood and will never be the same. It feels slightly odd to have your "home" attacked. Its a violation. I have never been more thankful to see the name of by brother and best friend danielle flash on my phone with an incoming text message.

People know my obsession with Boston. I have, and will always, feel it is the best city in the world for so many reasons. This is the place where I grew up, where my brother lives, where we have gone countless time for random day visits, weekends, to hang out with friends, to shows. It's home of the Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, and Patriots. There are no words to describe what Boston means to true Bostonians. It is just something, that once in you, you will never be able to shake off. Its a certain type of pride-- of traditions, history, and people.

I have never been more proud than to see Bostonians--police, army, spectators, jump into action. Notice in every photo every person who was injured had at least two people attending to them. No one was left behind, no one went unnoticed. I have faith that Bostonians, though shaken up, will rise up to be bigger and greater than ever before. That fact should scare whoever did this very much.

The article worth reading: https://medium.com/who-i-am/5d7c2b964916
whenever I try to explain why Boston means so much to us all I find it hard to put in words. This author does it extremely well.

Reasons to love Americans.

more reasons.

Today I chose to focus on the good. The responders and runners who after 26 miles kept running to give blood. The people who ran towards the smoke to help those involved. The Bostonians--simply because we love that dirty water.

Birthday weekend re-cap!

This weekend I took a break from everything going on at school (which is a lot in case you were wondering) and headed into Boston to celebrate my birthday, which was on Saturday. The four of us attended a Red Sox game and although it was a little chilly, it wasn't raining so I am counting my blessings. It was super fun to just hang out and take part in one of the best traditions Boston has to offer. The excitement was heightened because its Marathon weekend so the city was buzzing with extra people, Boston police, and giddy family members. The only downside was there was quite a bit of traffic.

The day was super fun and such a great way to celebrate 20 years of life! I think the day was a big hit with everyone!

In front of "sweet caroline's"--across the street from jerry remy's where we had lunch. Super yummy if you all are looking for a spot to go before a game (or in general). Its a sports bar atmosphere and right next to Fenway.
With Wally. Classic photo that my brother is oddly obsessed with. In case you were wondering how "boston" I truly am, I have a pillow pet that is Wally. His birthday is the day after mine as well, which I take as fate that we are meant to be friends.
Fenway.
We headed back to Zach's apartment to do a little cake and presents since he wasn't come home after.

Lighting the candles on the cake... trying to accomplish it all at once made me realize how old 20 is since it took quite some time to light 20 candles.
Made a wish and blew out all the candles in one try (it took all I had). I am hoping 20 will be my best year yet!

Note: That beautiful necklace was a gift from my best friend, Danielle, for my birthday. Is it not gorgeous?! I couldn't resist incorporating it into my outfit.. even if I was going to a baseball game. A little accessorizing never hurt anyone!

Happy Monday!

Happy birthday mom!!

I have a pretty awesome mom. Mainly, she is super patient. I mean really... I have only ever heard her yell at me three times during my life when, I assure you, I have deserved a lot more over the years. She also is the best gift giver ever. No I am really serious. She gives my brother and I gifts we didn't even know we wanted, but alas, we did (bean boots circa Christmas 2008). If you need something, she is on it and usually comes home with it the very same day. She has amazing style, even though I poke fun at how bright her wardrobe is I am constantly borrowing pieces out of jealousy. She is awesome and today is her birthday. So- HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!! I hope you have a fabulous day and I cannot wait to celebrate this weekend!! xoxox.

wordless wednesday

Wordless Wednesday today is a great video I came across. I assure, you will not be able to hold back tears. It's a little reminder how lucky we are to have people that risk their lives to defend our country.

Enjoy!

The links are being funky, but try the top one. If you cannot click it, copy and past the top link to your browser. If that doesn't work type "marine surprises brother at basketball practice" to youtube.

I guarantee its worth the effort!
