Throwback...

Netflix is by far the most popular movie/tv show watching outlet in college. I don't know one single person who does not have it. It is so popular because it has thousands of titles of tv shows or movies to browse through.  A lot of the titles are throwbacks--90s sitcoms and so forth.

My latest venture is Ally McBeal. I figure if it is a common question on Jeopardy and other games shows, it was worth my view. I oddly love it. It is kind of addicting and I adore Calista Flockhart as the put together lawyer (un-put together love life). Plus it takes place in Boston. What could be better?

Did any of you watch this show back in the day (or on Netflix!)? Any throwback suggestions?

Happy weekend!

Inspiration...

Check out the link below. Zach's story will surely change your day, if not your life in some small way. A great reminder of how phenomenal humans can be. Sometimes we just need a little reminder.

You all have twenty two minutes to spare. You won't regret watching this.

Saying Goodbye.

Today I moved out of the dorms. I finished my last exam, said my goodbyes, and ate at Kimball for the last time for many months. Since I am going abroad for the year, saying goodbye is especially sad. While I am excited for what is on the horizon, it is nerve-wracking to leave a place I finally feel like I can call home.

This has been a hard year. I lost some friends, gained so many, was challenged academically, and so much more. I grew so much in one year and the memories and laughter still ring in my head. I sit in my empty room to appreciate these last moments. The next time I will be back on campus will be senior year... preparing to enter the real world. For now I look back on a year of innocence, not having to worry about big girl things.

I am so appreciative of Holy Cross. I have met some amazing people and some not so amazing. I learned from both. I cried, I laughed, I GREW. I am eteranally grateful for this year and all those who supported me through it.

My roommate, Sarah, and I decided to leave our mark on our room. Room 329 was so amazing to us and we made so many memories--from lock down during Hurricane Sandy and the super snow storm, too spring weekend, too random nights of pillow talk--it has always been a place of comfort and laughter.

We signed our upper closet doors and hope when we return for many alumni weekends it will still be there for us to remember. If you know my roommate she is beyond sassy so while her message was a bit more on the funny side, mine was a bit more sentimental.

I will be recovering from the hardest week of finals yet and sorting through the massive car full of clothing, jewelry, and ohhh so much more I just packed up for the coming days, so I leave you with these doors.... our small mark on a place that means so much to us.

Weekend Re-cap

This past weekend was Spring Weekend here on campus---the notoriously best weekend of the year. It was American themed.. so you cannot get much better than that. I was super sick last year at this time... suffering in bed from an allergic reaction to medicine so it was refreshing to be able to go out and enjoy Friday night, Saturday day and night. This was the best weekend of the year.

I had so much fun with all my friends. The campus police let us all stay outside all day without breaking anything up so that made it so much better. Although we are still recovering: I stepped on glass, my roommate got burned by a cigarette, our feet are so sore from walking around all day, and we didn't go to bed before 1:30 AM all weekend.

I couldn't have asked for a better weekend to end my experience here... surrounded by all the people who I love to death ( I can finally say that I have found my niche). Since I am going abroad, it was sort of send off.

I took THOUSANDS of photos. When I looked back I honestly was like WHATT?! Since I have class in ten minutes (last day!!) here are just a few teasers.

Fashion Friday: Phone Cases

Phone cases are the new fashionable accessory. Here are some of the cutest on my radar.
JCrew
I currently am using the anchor themed case (far right).
Tory Burch also carries a ton of cute phone cases, although a little over priced (as with much of her products).
Love this one!
If you are more into the preppy cases--Vineyard Vines is the one stop preppy shop.
Happy accessorizing!

A Little Patriotic Pizazz

A few weekends ago my roommate and I sat in her home on her couch (she lives nearby) and watched the news as minute by minute the BPD and so many others discovered the Boston bomber was in a boat. It is one of those moments I will never forget--the sort of where were you when JFK got shot--where were you when 9/11 happened? We all looked around in disbelief that the nightmare was finally over. In that moment we felt we had to bring a little spirit back to our campus, which was slightly dampened by the weeks events.

Our window sits right on Easy Street... the main street on campus and the ONLY flat ground you will walk on while here. We live in Lehy- a dorm notoriously spirited and fun that has a spark of life to it each year. We couldn't let these circumstances pass us by, so we promptly drove to WalMart to purchase an American flag.

Though it took us hours to properly secure, (making sure it didn't fly away--lots of string and tape was involved) we could not be happier with the final product. Technically it is illegal to hang things outside your window, but not one complaint has been filed, nor has campus police asked us to remove it.

We had a minor incident when someone tried to jump up and rip it down, but I rushed to the window and yelled at them. Though they tried to fight back they soon realized you do not want to challenge me... especially when it comes to patriotic entities. think again honey....

We are pretty proud of our pizazz hanging outside the window.. it will surely stay there until we move out on May 15th and I think this flag may just make it into my suitcase to Ireland. A great wall decoration in my opinion.

God Bless America!

Girl Crush Alert.

I am kind of obsessed with Kristin Cavallari. Though in her Laguna Beach days she was totally annoying and I couldn't stand her, out of reality television(and ten years later) she is super awesome.
(Second in from the left.) Her high school days led me to believe she would be a failure in life since her words were rarely intelligent and partying was the only thing she ever did.

Then she turned into this goddess and most of you know her as Jay Cutler's fiance. They recently had a baby together, named Camden, and Kristin is in the process of designing her own shoe and fashion line.
With Jay Cutler
With Camden... the cutest baby ever.
Adorable!
The girl has done well for herself--snagging an NFL man and a cute baby. She has a killer bod and her fashion is impeccable. Even while pregnant she dressed so cute and classy. I will leave you with visuals as proof.

four months pregnant
At her baby shower.

Her fashion, makeup, and hair are always impeccable. I think its safe to say I have a new girl crush!

Happy Hump Day!

Current Obsessions.

Current obsessions include:

1. Macklemore. His new song-Macklemore- Can't Hold Us - is on repeat in my dorm room since both my roommate and I are obsessed with it. He is making his rounds to colleges all over America...except mine of course. BUT he is coming to Dublin in September and I fully plan on snagging tickets if I can. Attending a concert-let alone Macklemore- in Dublin.. check and check. Click the link for a tune you will become addicted to.

Week in Review

Let us review the past week--shall we?

1. Reese Witherspoon getting arrested. I NEVER thought she would be headlining news, but alas celebrities all slip up at one point. Her husband got arrested for DUI (driving the wrong way on a highway in Alabama) and she got thrown in the slammer for harassing the police officer. Remember she has three children, one of whom is a baby.
Poor gal couldn't even muster the cognitive skills to look at the camera. Still smiling though--way to rally Reese!

She still wins classy points because of the statement she released: "
"Out of respect for the ongoing legal situation, I cannot comment on everything that is being reported right now. But I do want to say, I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said"

2. Gweneth got voted most beautiful person in the world, according to People Magazine. Let me tell you something. She eats the weirdest diet- only certain types of fish, no gluten, no diary, no sugar, no carbs. She trains 3 times a day (yes 3!!) and she has endless amounts of money for beauty treatments, makeup, and wardrobe. If you have all this, you should be the prettiest woman alive!! Are you kidding?? Gweneth commented by saying the honor is "weird"--I don't believe for a second she thinks its weird because she works day in day out to be noticed. Girl probably let her self chew a sugary cupcake then spit it out for celebration. Jury is still out on whether I believe she is that pretty, but she surely isn't ugly.
She has two children and I have to say, if you are spending all that time on yourself.... you probably could be spending more time with your children. If you are training three times a day there is no way your time is properly dispersed to the other people in your life.

3.Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson had to have emergency surgery to repair a hernia. It forced him to miss the Pain and Gain premiere in LA, but alas everything went fine and he tweeted "#wefallwerise". It is safe to say that our favorite oversized hunk is on the mend!
While The Rock is under the narcotics cloud, we are totally sane enough to pick up on the sassiness of director Michael Bay (director of Pain and Gain) who stated "He was pushing it too hard. He needs to grow up and stop wrestling 300 pound men". I am sensing a little jealousy on the part of the much smaller, 80's hair, ' I think I am awesome ' director. AKA him:
4. Lastly no words are needed for what Gweneth wore this week to the Iron Man 3 premiere. I am speechless as to what she was thinking. It is not fashionable, not flattering, nor is she wearing underwear. You may come to your own conclusions.

Cousins are the best.

I saw this circulating around the internet today and could not stop laughing.

If you cannot name that movie-SHAME ON YOU. It, of course, is Miss Congeniality. If you haven't seen it.. rent or buy it now.
For years this was the only movie (besides baby movies) down the Cape that my cousins and I could watch and boy did we watch it... multiple times a week. We knew every line and would say them along with the movie. At the talent competition parts my cousin Molly and I would act them out and promptly be slammed with a pillow by our other cousin Elizabeth who hated when we would sing or disrupt her movie viewing.

We had many rules about his movie: 1. It is too only be watched in Cape Cod (back bedroom club!--only they will understand this!) 2. If someone gets really mad and threatens to leave because you are saying all the lines.. everyone must quiet down before she gets in a better mood. 3. the VHS version must be the only one used.

It reminded me how much I miss my cousins. Since I do not have any sisters the are my closest things and I couldn't be more thankful that I have them. So many memories and way too many laughs. I am beyond grateful to have them!

after we seared these images into our heads:
Then this good news:
after this bad news:
followed by hours of this:

in a small town now famous:

Which lead to the best news that looked like this:

Finally we all looked like this:
And we have never been more thankful for these guys:
Or more proud to be Bostonians:
One Boston. Very strong. United more than ever. God bless America.
